General Information:
Our season runs from August to approximately November. Cheerleaders are divided into cheer squads by age and grade level.

To cheer, a cheerleader must be between the ages of 5 and 14. A cheerleader must be 5 as of August 1, 2010. A 9th grade cheerleader cannot cheer on an all-star team or a high-school team. |
Team Selection - You must register your child at the correct age/grade level. However, you may complete the "Special Squad Request" form. This allows you to submit a special request for team placement for a specific reason. The Board will consider special requests once ALL registrations are finalized. Special squad placements are NOT guaranteed. The Board will consider each request individually, while working within the new County age/grade guidelines.
Practices:
August 2rd at T.C. Martin Elementary School will be the official “meet and greet.” and the first night of practice. Cheerleaders practice 4 nights a week in August and then three nights a week once school starts. Practices are from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Practice during the month of August will be Monday – Thursday. Once school begins practices will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Practice will be held at T.C. Martin Elementary School 6315 Olivers Shop Rd, Bryantown
Beginning October 1st practice will be moved indoors at T.C. Martin Elementary School.
Game schedules:
Team schedules will be made available approximately the 3rd week of practice. Most games are played on Saturdays. However, teams may play some week night games.
Cheer Equipment:
Hurricanes will provide uniforms to all cheerleaders at the start of the season. Hughesville Hurricanes will provide skirt, shell, black midriff turtle neck and poms. Each cheerleader is required to purchase a spirit pack which includes hair bow, bloomers, and socks. Cheerleaders are required to purchase cheerleading shoes. Black leggings will be ordered as a group in September.
Game day:
Please arrive with your child one half hour prior to the start of your scheduled game.
